In this final stretch of Romans, Paul looks at how the grace of God transforms how we live our everyday lives. John Calvin famously wrote, “It is, therefore, faith alone which justifies, and yet the faith which justifies is not alone” since it leads to a new way of living. Believing the Gospel by faith not only transfers us from the kingdom of darkness to the kingdom of light, but it also transforms how we live as citizens and saints in this new kingdom.
Romans is one of the most significant letters ever written in human history. It has quite literally changed the face of history as we know it both within the church and outside of it. When people read and hear the book of Romans, remarkable things happen. Augustine, the great African theologian, was transformed while reading Romans 13. He describes his experience, “as though the light of confidence flooded in my heart and all the darkness of doubt was dispelled.”  Join us as we go through Romans 9 – 11 , Part 3.
