Struggling to read the bible?

A number of people have been asking for a healthy yet realistic bible reading plan.

Have a look at this option:

Divide the Bible into three sections
1. Old Testament excluding Psalms, Proverbs, Ecclesiastes and Song of Songs. All in all 728 Chapters.
2. New Testament. 260 Chapters
3. Devotions. Including Psalms, Proverbs, Ecclesiastes and Song of Songs. 201 Chapters

Day 1. Two chapters Old Testament (starting Genesis 1) and one Devotion (Psalm 1)
Day 2. Two chapters New Testament (starting Matthew 1) and one Devotion (Psalm2)
Repeat this cycle.

Read it through systematically in each division. Start at the beginning and continue through-chapter following chapter.
I recommend using a hand book in conjunction with this reading plan. Either ‘Unlocking the Bible’ or ‘Lion handbook to the bible

Whatever you are reading in the Bible read the corresponding section in the handbook. It will help you understand the context enormously and have you absorbed in the Bible.

Always begin by asking the author, the Holy Spirit, to help you understand

If you follow this plan for two years you will read through the Old Testament once, the New Testament almost three times and the Devotional books three times.
