In this series, we look at the core beliefs of the Christian faith. We’ve structured this around a study of the Apostles’ Creed. It is one of the earliest known formal statements of the essential truths of Christianity and was composed to separate it from the many sects and cults, and their distorted view of Christianity, that had appeared in the early 1st Century. History seems to show that it was spoken by the apostles themselves to those who were being baptised.
We have packaged this content into a six-week series that includes:
- a Sunday preach on the current topic
- a mid-week video which explores the topic on a more practical level (this is best done in a Connect Group setting)
- A Study Guide for you to grow in
Our prayer is that by end of these 6 weeks, you’ll know the essential truths of the Christian faith.
PREPARE FOR THE JOURNEY
Read through the Apostles’ Creed and familiarise yourself with its content
I believe in God, the Father almighty,
creator of heaven and earth.
I believe in Jesus Christ, his only Son, our Lord.
He was conceived by the power of the Holy Spirit
and born of the virgin Mary.
He suffered under Pontius Pilate,
was crucified, died, and was buried.
He descended to the dead.
On the third day he rose again.
He ascended into heaven,
and is seated at the right hand of the Father.
He will come again to judge the living and the dead.
I believe in the Holy Spirit,
the holy Church,
the communion of the saints,
the forgiveness of sins,
the resurrection of the body,
and the life everlasting. Amen.
